Introducing Aspire Talent

Something new, and a rebrand!

My mission has always been deeply driven by helping both individuals and organizations do meaningful and impactful work. I’m a big believer of human capital and the importance of people as the building blocks of all organizations and businesses (one of my favorite books is Good to Great from Jim Collins). Naturally, I wanted to find a way to merge both my interest in “people” and “business.”

That said, I’m excited to announce the creation and rebrand of my consulting business, Aspire Talent, a boutique consultancy for start-ups and SMBs focused on HR, Human Capital and Talent Optimization advisory.

I’ll still be offering career and leadership coaching services, under other Michelle Yu Coaching. And of course my general podcast for my thoughts and musings. My time will be (and has always been) split between serving individuals and organizations, so I could straddle on both sides of the fence :)

How to actualize your career dreams

  1. Start with a vision. Create it and write it down

  2. Get focused on what it is that you want. Weed out the noise, the doubters and the haters.

  3. Stay focused and hold onto that vision, not getting distracted along the way.

  4. Go for it.

Above was my admissions essay when I applied to Duke Fuqua School of Business, where I wrote about my career goals and what I wanted to achieve post business school. I have hit all of my short term goals already. Now, I’m paving the way for my longer term goals and visions, starting with creating and establishing a consultancy. So, here I am, 7 years later, actualizing this vision, which I now call Aspire Talent.

Trust the process

I love seeing how I’ve iterated from my previous and original ideas. They all have a similar and consistent theme (the mission and intent has never changed), I’ve just evolved over time (but at the same time, not really). So fun to see the third website evolve, which was my original site that I created when I was 26 and was up and running when I was in business school.
